Puyallup and Klickitat

Meeting Needs and Wants
The Puyallup and the Klickitat Tribes

In the state of Washington, there were the Coastal and Plateau Indians. Divided by the Cascade Mountain Range, these historically fascinating groups met needs and wants in different ways, their methods moderately contrasting. This is due to the location, resources, culture, and beliefs of each tribe.

To represent each side, there are the Puyallup Indians, a Coastal Tribe from Western Washington. Also, the Klickitat Indians (also spelt Klikitat), a plateau tribe from Eastern Washington [1]. Both tribes had their basic needs of food, water, and shelter.
